Engineering steel · hot-rolled bar
Grade selection around function and heat treatment
We coordinate engineering materials including carbon, alloy and bearing steels. Hot-rolled black-surface stock and processed bars are reviewed around part function and downstream operations.

Product & application
Case-hardening and through-hardening applications require different selection criteria. We review the drawing grade, hardenability, machining allowance and material-soundness requirements. Any change from the specified material is subject to the customer approval process.
- Supply forms
- Hot-rolled round bar · bars · round/square · cut blanks
- Application examples
- Gears, shafts, pins, bearing components and industrial or automotive parts
Define the supply conditions.
These are specification inputs for quotation review. Actual availability, minimum quantity and lead time are confirmed by grade and size.
- Condition & surface
- Black, peeled or drawn surface and downstream heat-treatment requirements
- Dimensions & order
- Stock dimensions, machining allowance and cut length
- Inspection & documents
- Specify mill certificates, tests, traceability and customer approvals. Document availability, cost and timing are reviewed.

Grades and forms are inquiry examples. Inventory, availability, dimensions, quantity, inspections and lead time are confirmed at quotation.
JIS names are used as a reference. They do not automatically establish equivalence to other standards or certification. Agree the applicable standard, edition and product requirements before ordering.
H steels are structural steels supplied with a guaranteed hardenability band (Jominy test) under JIS G 4052 (KS D 3754 equivalent), used for gears, shafts and other parts that need consistent heat-treatment response.
