Valve materials & heat-resistant steel sourcing
Different requirements for engine and fluid-control valves
Valve materials need corrosion resistance, wear resistance, treatment response or high-temperature properties depending on service. We distinguish engine inlet/exhaust valves from industrial fluid-control parts when reviewing drawing-based sourcing.

Product & application
Review the medium, temperature, pressure, wear and corrosion before defining grade, heat treatment and surface requirements. SUH grades are JIS heat-resistant steel inquiry references; supplier capability and customer approval need separate confirmation.
- Supply forms
- Bar · wire · cut-stock availability reviewed individually
- Application examples
- Valve stems, pins and components; review of heat-resistant material for engine valves
Define the supply conditions.
These are specification inputs for quotation review. Actual availability, minimum quantity and lead time are confirmed by grade and size.
- Condition & surface
- Engine/industrial application, service conditions, treatment, hardness and structure
- Dimensions & order
- Drawing dimensions, straightness, surface criteria and approval requirements
- Inspection & documents
- Specify mill certificates, tests, traceability and customer approvals. Document availability, cost and timing are reviewed.
Specified heat-resistant grades need a separate sourcing review
Engine-valve grade references do not imply stocked material or established production supply. Availability is checked against the required grade and approvals.
Representative grades & review scope
| Family | Representative grades / review basis |
|---|---|
| Industrial valve components | Review by service conditions |
| Engine-valve heat-resistant steel | Availability checked against the specified drawing |
Grades and forms are inquiry examples. Inventory, availability, dimensions, quantity, inspections and lead time are confirmed at quotation.
JIS names are used as a reference. They do not automatically establish equivalence to other standards or certification. Agree the applicable standard, edition and product requirements before ordering.
